Maternity Time!!

Welcome back! I just wanted to start by saying that I sooo appreciate you all coming back every week to read my blog! It can be challenging to be far away from some of our family and friends and this blog helps me to keep in touch as well as document our journey from 2 to Three!

So about a month ago, I was on my way to go out to the movies when I realized that my favorite jeans were fitting a bit snug! Now, since college (where I was the heaviest I have ever been), I have lost about 55 pounds. And as someone who has been battling weight loss on and off for the past 14 or so years, I had formed an emotional attachment to these jeans, as they are the smallest sized jeans I have purchased in a long time!! So imagine my despair to finally realize that they could not fit comfortably anymore!! It was puzzling to me because at the time, I had only gained about 5 pounds throughout the entire pregnancy (7 pounds total as of yesterday, Feb 29th at 22 weeks :-) ). So why weren’t my jeans fitting?!?!?!

After a pep talk from a friend, I decided that it was time to venture off and buy my first pair of maternity jeans! At 4 months pregnant, I wasn’t sure if it was time but I could not go to the movies uncomfortable anymore! I was ready to start going out in sweats (which my mom would kill me if she ever saw that), so time or not, I was determined to get some jeans I could be comfortable in.

So I made a date with my friend, LaTanya, and off to Motherhood Maternity we went! When we arrived, LaTanya (being my big sister-friend) explained to the lady that we were on the hunt for some comfortable jeans. She did all the talking while I kinda just stood there looking around at all of the options they had for mommys-to-be. Not even knowing where to start, the lady at the store was so helpful and just starting pulling things off the rack. “Do you like this? How about these? What about leggings?” The questions went on and on. So I just picked up everything hoping that I would find at least something that I loved and on to the dressing room I went.

While in the dressing room, I felt my heart sinking as many of the options I chose, were not as comfortable as I would have imagined. But finally, I found the perfect pair! These:

I was so happy! These were my new movie jeans! Finally I could sit down somewhere without feeling the urge to unbutton my pants..lol…So I grabbed an additional pair of black pants for work and left the store! The black ones are here:

Since I wear A LOT of dresses and tights (this red top, is actually a dress held up for the pics), there was no need to go on a shopping spree. These were the bare essentials, so I got what I needed and was ready to go. Plus, it was hot in that store! (Maybe it was just all of the anxiety turned excitement!)

So that’s it! I hope that these will last throughout the pregnancy, the black ones need to be hemmed but that will happen in due time. Here's me in my jeans today :-)

Join me next week as we begin Project Organize!! This is the most exciting thing that has happened to my house in months! Lol…See ya next week!
