Project PFP Continues!

Hello Friends!  Yes, I know...I took another 2-week hiatus, BUT in my defense, I have been ULTRA busy these past 2 weeks and soon you guys will know (and see) why!  We, and by we I mean my husband Jason :-), have been working diligently to get little Peanut's nursery in order and while he's been painting and doing all of the other DIY projects I have dreamt up in my head, I have been planning and hosting!  My friend Eni came to visit me last weekend and I was so busy having fun, that my blog post went out the window!

But, I digress...

Project "Prep for Peanut" (PFP) continues!  This week we're gonna take a look at the new and improved office.  Now, this is the room that I use in my house THE LEAST!  But hubby uses the MOST. So, it was absolutely necessary for us to get this room in order, especially since all our important papers and stuff are in it (papers and stuff, they sound really important, don't they? ;-) ) Anywho, Jason has been utilizing this office almost daily for the past 1.5 years (1 year and 7 months) as he has been enrolled at UF getting his Masters in Engineering.  He will be done in May, praise the Lord! So he has spent, and will continue to spend (until May), a fairly large amount of time in this office, so I wanted it to be a place where he could study and focus, but also not make it so "office-y" so that when he's done, we can all still enjoy the room!  I hate unused areas of the home so I try to make each room and user friendly as possible.  So this office serves as Jason's place to study and a place for me & Meelo to go when we're ready to bother and harass him :-)

How can anyone resist this face?

(This is Meelo, our 3 year old Lab Mix)

Ok, so here we go.  I'll show a few before pics first, and then we'll transition to after....Enjoy!  Oh!  Keep in mind that the office design was a kinda spur of the moment decision.  We literally came home one day and said, hey, do you wanna re-do the office?  And just like that, we were off to Home Depot to pick and purchase paint!  Then we took the trek (1 hour drive) to Ikea and got lost in the showroom and this is what we ended up with! :-)  This somehow became a mess over these past few months and needed some re-vamping and organization!  And for that, we had to call in the reinforcements!  Ok, well we didn't exactly call them in.  My mommy came to town for a routine visit and graciously helped us a few of the days that she was here (thank God!).  Ok, now enjoy!

BEFORE (Don't judge us, a lot of brilliance takes place in this room! And blame Jason! Lol):

And AFTER:

And that's all!  Thanks again to my wonderful Mother for all of your hard work, we could not have finished this mess without you!

And please, please, please leave a comment below.  I love hearing from you guys, even if it's just a "Hey, I read your blog!"  I know you have to sign-in to Google to do so (I don't know how to change that) but make the sacrifice for me!  Pretty please?  See you next week! Or next, next week! Ok...just kidding :-)

Project "Prep for Peanut" has Commenced!!!

It's finally time!  Project "Prep for Peanut" (PFP) has begun!  But before we get to that, I would like to apologize for not posting last week!  I assure you I had all intentions of doing so but this post took so much time as I had to take all these pictures!  I'm not that great with my camera and I have a Lenovo computer which does not have an SD Card Reader so posting pics is such a process for me!! Lol...So I appreciate your grace and forgiveness (you like how I assumed that? Hehe)...

Anywho!  Let's get started!

Ok, so I began Project PFP out of necessity.  Last Christmas, we housed both sides of our family for an event we called "A Noble Wonderland", and although we had a BLAST, it was so frustrating having family in town and not being able to find anything!  Like someone would ask for a lint roller, and I would literally have to run up and down the stairs and scour all of the rooms of my almost 2900 sq ft, 3-level townhouse.  It was not fun!  And I ended it determined to get the house in order before little Peanut's arrival.  Looking after a new baby is already enough work and I don't wanna exacerbate that problem by not being able to find anything I'm looking for.  So, Project PFP began!  As since we started, we have successfully and strategically organized every room in the house (except the master bedroom closet which is currently in work and will be done before I post about it :-) )  We have thrown away and donated sooo much stuff and it's so freeing to be able to actually know where everything is.  I found some things I hadn't seen since we bought this house almost 2 years ago!

So today we are going to take a look at the biggest project in the whole house, the KITCHEN!  I tackled this area first (with the help of my hubby and a few friends, thank you Portia and Heavenly!) because this was the area in the worst condition.  I am obsessed with kitchen stuff and as a result, I had WAAYYY to many things and since they were not organized,  I could never figure out what I actually had!

So here are the before and afters!

An empty area!! Woo-hoo!!   Please ignore the top shelf, my
darling husband won't let me get
rid of those cups!  Marriage is
                                                                            about compromise ;-)

And there is one drawer left:

This, my friends, is the junk drawer (or as I like to call it, the overflow drawer).  Every kitchen must have one for all of the takeout menus, batteries, spare keys and other random things. This drawer is for my eyes only :-)

Thank you so much for joining me this week!  This post took me HOURS to complete, but it was well worth it!  Plus, I learned some new techniques that will help me move a little bit faster for posts with a lot of pics for next time.  I'm becoming a blogging pro! :-)

I'll be back next week (I promise) as Project "Prep for Peanut" (PFP) continues with the Office!  And soon, we'll start on the nursery!  This is what the nursery looks like today:

Looks promising doesn't it? ;-)

Oh and here's some pics of the completed kitchen!

Yes, that is a couch in my kitchen.  It's a bit unconventional, I know, but it's soo functional!
I think it's fun!
A kitchen that's as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. Mission Completed!

See ya next week! :-)
